Why True Growth Has No Fixed Timeline – Dealing with Uncertainty, Healing, and the Need for Certainty
There are moments when everything inside you calls out: when will it get better? These are often times when you feel stuck in your health, relationships, work, or simply life itself. That standstill can feel like a heavy curtain you just can’t seem to get past. You look for answers, for direction, for something to hold on to. And preferably, you want to hear exactly when it will all be over. When your energy will return, when you can fully participate again, when things will lighten up.
Especially during these periods, I often meet people in my work as a reader who hope for a timeline. A prediction. Sometimes even specific months or years. It’s a completely understandable desire, especially when you’re dealing with something like chronic fatigue, an eating disorder, burnout, or long-term trauma recovery. Your mind says: if I just know when, I can hold on. Then I’ll know what I’m working toward.
But the reality is that true growth, true healing, doesn’t follow a fixed roadmap. Not because it doesn’t exist, but because your system is constantly in motion. You make choices every day. You allow in what you can handle, and sometimes you close off again what is too much. That’s human. And in that lies the key.
Often, during a session, I do pick up on a sense of direction. Sometimes I see something about the future — for example, that a lighter period is coming or that someone makes a clear leap forward at a certain life stage. But it’s never static. It’s not an unchangeable prediction. It’s an image that matches your energy at that moment, and that’s as changeable as the seasons.
What I see most often in these situations is that people slip into a kind of waiting mode. They hold their breath, figuratively speaking, and only really start living again once things improve. But that mindset ultimately drains your energy. It takes you away from the here and now. And it reinforces feelings of discouragement and frustration.
That’s why I invite you to look at your process differently. Not from the question “when will I get there?” but “what is this moment asking of me?” Maybe it’s about resting, maybe about bringing in movement. Maybe practicing softness towards yourself, or feeling that inner fire that has long been suppressed. Many of us still carry unprocessed anger, grief that hasn’t been seen, or aversion to our own body. All these parts need attention on the path to healing.
What I offer in my sessions is not a crystal ball. It’s tuning in to your process, with insights that match where you are now. Sometimes that includes a clear image about the future, sometimes not at all. What always takes center stage is strengthening your own inner guidance. So that you can feel from within when it’s time for a next step.
If you’d like guidance with this, you’re welcome to book a session with me. In a reading, I attune to your energy and the themes that are active for you right now. In therapeutic sessions, we go deeper into blocks, emotions, and inner child parts. And for profound work around trauma and underlying patterns, I also offer QHHT sessions: Quantum Healing Hypnosis Technique. This is an intensive form of hypnosis that gives you access to deeper subconscious layers of yourself.
You can find more information about these sessions at www.heelde.info. Through the website, you can also schedule an appointment directly. You are warmly welcome.
