True Alignment Begins When You No Longer Need to Know
Many people walking the spiritual path of channeling eventually ask the question: “Who am I connecting with?” They want to know a name—whether it’s their main guide, an angel, a passed loved one, a light being, an ancestor, or someone from a previous incarnation. That question is understandable. It offers a sense of grounding. A name makes something tangible. But it’s not always necessary—and sometimes, it can even get in the way.
I work with guides, light beings, and energies of both higher and lower frequencies on a daily basis. The connection is clear, tangible, and powerful. But I don’t always know who is speaking. And that’s perfectly fine. Because at the heart of it, it’s not about who—it’s about what. What is being communicated? What wants to be seen? What needs to flow, to be touched, healed, or transformed?
The need for control and certainty
The desire to know ‘who’ is speaking often stems from our very human longing for control. We want to categorize what we’re experiencing. We want certainty. Especially when you’re just starting to tune in, it can feel comforting to hear a name or sense a familiar presence. It can reassure you. But it can also cloud your perception.
Because the moment your personality starts to interfere—with thoughts like who it should be, whether it’s real, or whether you’re worthy of such a connection—you step out of your clear channel. You’re no longer receiving—you’re filtering.
My own path with nameless guides
When I began reading and working within the soul field, I quickly sensed I wasn’t talking to a single guide, but rather a collective. Sometimes it felt like one lead presence coordinating the energy. Other times it was a voice, a feeling, a field of consciousness. But I never received a name. In fact, my main guide made it very clear that I wouldn’t get one. Not out of secrecy—but as a form of protection.
Why? Because my personality would turn it into a story. A hook. Something to cling to, or measure myself against. And I understood. Because when I’m in the channel, I’m not “Hilde doing something.” I am empty. Neutral. Present. There is only listening, feeling, translating. The guides move through me. And the moment I step out of that space to form an opinion or label it, the channel closes.
So I learned: I don’t need to know. I just need to be available.
What if you don’t know who’s speaking?
When you receive something—a thought that feels unfamiliar, an image that suddenly appears, a sentence that wants to be spoken—and you don’t know where it’s coming from, that doesn’t mean you’re lost or ungrounded. On the contrary. The subtle realm doesn’t work through structure and labels. It works through resonance.
True guidance doesn’t announce itself with a name—it reveals itself through what it stirs in you. You’ll recognize it by the inner resonance, a gentle clarity, a pulse of truth—often before your mind can grasp the meaning. You don’t need to label it to receive it. What matters is your state of presence, your inner stillness, your willingness to not control the experience. That’s where real listening begins.
How do you know if it’s pure?
You feel it.
-
There’s a light vibration, a subtle clarity, a sense of expansion.
-
The message is never forceful, fear-based, or condescending.
-
It carries calm, softness, love, and truth—even when it’s confronting.
-
Your personality steps back. Your presence steps forward.
When you’re in that space, it truly doesn’t matter who’s speaking. You don’t need to know. And if it’s ever important to know, you’ll be shown—at the exact moment it serves your growth.
How can you practice this?
If you want to learn to work with guides without your personality getting in the way, try this:
-
Sit in stillness. Set a clear intention: “I open myself to pure guidance.”
-
Release any expectations about who or what should appear.
-
Feel your body. Breathe slowly. Drop into your being.
-
Say your own name softly.
-
Then say: “Let me feel, know, or see what I may receive now.”
-
If something comes through—an image, a phrase, a knowing—take it seriously. But don’t analyze.
-
Write it down. Not to prove anything, but to train your channel.
-
Trust that what needs to be shown will arrive—even if you don’t understand it (yet).
Trust beyond knowing
The more you practice, the less important it becomes to know who is speaking. You’ll begin to feel what is true, what resonates, what moves you forward. That’s what matters. Because the subtle world doesn’t operate on hierarchy—it operates on resonance.
Your channel is sacred space. You decide who is welcome within it. And the most loving, pure guides—the nameless ones—will always reveal themselves through their frequency, not their name tag.
Want to deepen your connection to your own channel without losing yourself?
I work with people who are ready to take their inner knowing seriously. You’re warmly welcome for a reading session in which we’ll explore how your unique channel wants to open, deepen, and root into your life.
