Travelling on Guidance from the Universe
There are questions that look simple on the surface, yet hold two entirely different answers underneath. In the PolarSteps group someone recently asked me: “Hilde, how do you actually do this travelling?” And as I read it, I immediately felt that the question could point in two directions. Do they mean: how do you manage it financially? Or do they mean: how does intuitive travelling actually work when you have no fixed plan? For me, those two answers belong together, but they each have their own story.
Working as a digital nomad while staying grounded
The financial side is actually quite straightforward: I work while I travel. I’m a digital nomad, but in my own way. I offer readings and several forms of therapeutic sessions online, and everything that flows from that work. I do this a few days per week and, honestly, I wouldn’t want it any other way. Only travelling, without working, makes me feel like I start dissolving. As if my connection to the world becomes thinner. Working keeps me grounded. It brings me back into my body, into presence, and back into the deep connection with my clients. It also reconnects me with the subtle world and my guides. That combination keeps me clear, steady and deeply here.
After every reading I write a full session report. That means I drop into trance again, tune in again, and reconnect with the field. Because of that rhythm, I keep dreaming lucidly while I travel. I continue receiving messages about the country I’m in, about energetic work that needs to be done, or the portals I’m asked to open. It becomes a rhythm between travelling, giving, working and receiving. And that rhythm is what makes this lifestyle not only possible, but deeply meaningful.
Meanwhile, my regular costs back home in the Netherlands continue. I don’t rent out my house. I live, pay and travel at the same time. So the practical answer is simple: I work while I travel, and because I love my work, it never feels heavy. In fact, I feel deeply grateful that I get to do this work on the road.
Travelling without a plan, yet always right on time
The second interpretation of the question is just as interesting: how do you actually travel without knowing where you’re going next? For me, that part is woven through with the subtle world. I receive guidance about what wants to happen next. Not through logical planning, but through that quiet, clear knowing that rises in my system out of nowhere. In the past I often received guidance weeks ahead. I would know: that’s where I need to be, that’s the movement. But this trip is different. This trip is completely last minute. Sometimes literally one day before I move.
Now that I’m in Australia, I feel that everything asks me to stay even closer to that inner guidance. I thought I would travel on to Sydney in my second week, but when I arrived here it felt so right to stay with my friends. The connection is warm, the place feels good, and even the mixed weather fits the quiet rhythm that is unfolding here. So I’m staying. And if the field shifts and the movement toward Sydney suddenly feels right, then I’ll go. Until then, I’m working here, integrating, receiving and following exactly what feels aligned in the moment.
The blend of freedom and meaning
For me, travelling is not an escape and not a holiday. It’s a way of living where freedom and meaning meet. I move, I work, I receive. I deepen, I follow guidance, I slow down, I speed up. Life leads, and I listen. That makes travelling light and completely aligned with what my soul wants to experience.
So when someone asks how I do this, the answer is really twofold. I work while I travel, so my life stays supported. And I follow guidance, so my soul leads the way. That combination keeps me from drifting off. Instead, it brings me deeper into myself, into my work, into the countries I travel through, and into everything that unfolds energetically along the way.
Do you want to learn how to live and travel from your inner guidance?
In my readings, QHHT sessions and therapeutic sessions I work with many people who feel they’re meant to follow a different kind of path. A path that aligns, that feels true, that doesn’t come from fear or control but from inner leadership. If you want to explore that yourself, you’re always welcome to book a session through my appointment widget.
