March 2026
Hi ,
Spring is slowly starting to make itself felt. The light is changing, the days are getting longer,
and in nature you can see how everything is cautiously beginning to move again. Seasonal shifts
like this often affect us internally as well. Where winter invites us to turn inward, spring often
creates space for movement, new ideas and a different perspective on life. You may notice that
something inside you is beginning to stir too.
Many people feel that something begins to shift during this time of year. Not because there is
suddenly a major problem, but because what once felt natural no longer feels entirely obvious.
Patterns that seemed logical for years begin to raise questions. Roles you have fulfilled for a
long time may start to feel less fitting. Choices that once felt self-evident may now invite you to
look at them again. As if something inside is asking for a kind of inner clearing.
Spring is often exactly the moment when clarity begins to appear. Not because everything suddenly
resolves itself, but because you begin to see more clearly what truly belongs to you and what may
slowly be ready to be released.
Back in the Netherlands
After several months of travelling, I am now back in the Netherlands. Over the past period I spent
time in different places across Australia, Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia, where nature, simplicity
and a slower rhythm naturally invite you to slow down and recalibrate. For me, travelling is not
really a traditional holiday, but more a way of stepping out of the usual rhythm of daily life and
creating space for reflection. I also continued doing readings while travelling, which I really
enjoyed. It allows me to stay connected and continue offering something meaningful wherever I am.
When the pace slows down, it often becomes clearer what has been unfolding in the months before.
Ideas have space to land, experiences start to integrate and new directions slowly begin to appear.
Each time it surprises me how a period of movement eventually leads back to a sense of coming home
again.
Now that I am back in the Netherlands, it also feels good to work again in my own practice space
and to receive people here for sessions. The alternation between travelling and returning home
continues to feel like a natural rhythm for me, both personally and in my work.
What I see a lot in sessions
One thing I have been seeing quite often in sessions recently is that people do not necessarily
come in with one big problem. It is more a feeling that life seems to have slowed down or become a
bit stuck. Work that no longer truly energises them. Relationships where something begins to feel
uncomfortable. Or the sense that you have been waiting for the next step in your life for a while,
without knowing exactly where that step is.
Many people notice that they have already spent quite some time thinking, analysing and trying to
understand what is going on. They talk about it with friends, read books or try to sort things out
by themselves. Yet real clarity sometimes remains out of reach. It can feel as if you keep going in
circles in your head, while somewhere deeper inside you know that something wants to change.
What is often surprising is that the actual cause of that feeling is usually somewhere else than
people initially think. That is exactly why it can be helpful to occasionally look at your
situation from the outside. Not to immediately fix everything, but to regain a clearer overview of
what is truly happening.
New depth on the blog
Recently I have written a few new blog articles about themes that many people recognise in their
own lives.
In the blog How do you break generational trauma? Letting go of family pain that was never
yours I write about the influence family lines can have on our lives. Many people carry
emotions, responsibilities or tensions that did not actually begin with them. They originated in
earlier generations but continue to show up in behaviour, relationships and sometimes even in the
body. When you begin to recognise what truly belongs to you and what you may have unconsciously
taken on from others, space often opens up to release these old burdens.
A question I often receive
One question I hear quite regularly is: “When do you know it is time to do a reading?”
Most people ask that question after they have already tried for quite some time to find clarity
themselves. They have thought things through, talked with friends or family, read books or tried to
sort out their feelings and thoughts on their own. Yet something often continues to linger. A
feeling that you keep running into the same questions without fully understanding why, or that
certain themes keep returning in your life without clear movement.
What I often see is that people start analysing more and more during that phase. The mind tries to
gain control over the situation by searching for explanations, solutions or the right decision.
Thinking can be very powerful, but sometimes it also keeps you circling around the same doubts. You
keep weighing options, reconsidering decisions or trying to understand why certain patterns keep
repeating themselves.
Those are often the moments when a reading can become valuable. Not because someone from the
outside is going to decide your life for you, but because a reading helps to make visible what is
already present within your system. During a session it often becomes clear which patterns,
emotions and dynamics are currently active in your life. Things that previously felt confusing
suddenly begin to fall into place. People often describe that a sense of overview appears during a
reading, as if different pieces of a puzzle suddenly start connecting.
That insight often brings a sense of calm. When you begin to understand why certain patterns repeat
themselves or where certain feelings originate, space opens up to look at your situation
differently and move forward again with more awareness instead of doubt.
What I am noticing lately
Something I have been noticing more and more lately, both in my own life and in sessions with
clients, is how many people seem to be standing at a kind of turning point. Not necessarily because
one major problem appears, but because life that once felt stable and obvious suddenly begins to
raise questions.
Work that once made sense starts to feel restrictive. Relationships begin to change shape or ask
for more honest boundaries. And patterns that have worked for years suddenly offer less support.
What I often see is that people first try to solve this by thinking even more about it. They
analyse their situation, try to understand everything and search for the right decision. Yet
thinking can sometimes become a trap as well. The mind tries to create clarity, while the real
movement often happens on a deeper level.
That phase can feel uncomfortable. The old still offers a certain sense of safety, even if it no
longer fully fits. At the same time the new is not yet clearly visible. Because of that, people
sometimes feel stuck, while in reality an important transition is taking place.
What is becoming increasingly clear to me is that this period is often the beginning of a shift.
When old patterns become visible and people start to recognise where they are still adapting,
holding on or making themselves smaller than they really are, space begins to open for something
new. Not by forcing change immediately, but by slowly becoming more honest about what truly feels
right.
Clarity readings
For many people a clarity reading becomes exactly that moment of insight. During a session we look
together at the underlying dynamics that are currently active in your life. This can involve family
patterns, relationships, work, life direction or recurring patterns that continue to show up.
During a reading it often becomes clear where certain emotions or blockages originate and which
patterns are currently influencing your life. At the same time it also becomes visible which
movement is already present within you. Many people experience that a sense of overview quickly
appears. Things that once felt complicated or confusing start to make sense, and it becomes clearer
where you are in life and which direction may slowly be emerging.
What I often hear after a session is people saying: “I should have done this much earlier.” Not
because everything needs to be solved immediately, but because there is finally clarity about what
is really happening.
You can book a clarity reading either online or live in The Hague via the
website. If you feel that this might be a good moment for you to gain more clarity about
where you are in your life, you are very welcome.
Spring is a period in which many people begin to feel again what wants to grow in their lives.
Sometimes that starts with recognising an old pattern you no longer want to repeat. Sometimes with
a new insight that slowly begins to take shape. And sometimes with a conversation where things
suddenly become clear.
Whatever may be unfolding in your life at this moment, sometimes it simply helps to pause for a
moment and look clearly at what is truly happening.
With warmth, Hilde
