Newsletter June 2026
Hi ,
Summer as a moment of rest and new insight
Summer is almost here. For many people that means holidays, stepping away from the daily routine
and making space for rest. And it is precisely in those quieter moments that something interesting
tends to happen. When you are no longer constantly focused on what still needs to be done, there is
room to daydream, to look ahead, and to ask yourself what you actually want. Not through effort or
forcing, but through ease. These are often the moments when new ideas, insights and longings
surface on their own. Give yourself that space this summer and stay curious about what wants to
emerge in you.
Writing to you from Zeeland
As you read this, I am spending a week in Zeeland. Not to do absolutely nothing — I am still
working as usual, including on this newsletter today. But it is wonderful to step out of my normal
rhythm for a while. I am enjoying the vast open space, the wind that sometimes blows quite fiercely
here, and the quiet that comes with it. That combination of rest and distance is exactly what
brings fresh inspiration and new ideas.
What strikes me again this week is how differently you see your own life the moment you physically
change your surroundings. I notice that I naturally create distance from the daily busyness and see
more clearly what I am actually doing. New ideas are coming up for my practice, for blogs and for
the further development of Heelde. Apparently all I sometimes need is a different environment to
see clearly what was already there all along. Perhaps that is the most beautiful thing about
getting away for a few days.
You do not need to become stronger — you are allowed to become more yourself
Something I have been noticing more and more lately, both in my practice and beyond, is how hard
people are working on themselves. They read books, follow courses, meditate, go to therapy and try
to grow. And yet they get stuck. Not because they are not trying hard enough, but because they are
unconsciously still trying to adapt to what the world outside expects of them.
Many people believe that personal development means becoming a better version of yourself. In my
experience it works the other way around. The greatest growth happens when you dare to peel away
what is not yours. Old beliefs, learned patterns, expectations from parents, partners, employers or
society.
People often come in with a concrete question. They want to know why they feel so exhausted, why a
relationship is not working, why they keep hitting a wall at work or why they cannot seem to make a
choice. But when we look deeper, we almost always land on a completely different layer. I see a
striking number of people who have spent years trying to adapt. They are the ones who organise
everything, take care of others, avoid conflict or make themselves small to keep the peace.
Successful, responsible, their lives looking perfectly in order from the outside — and yet deep
down they feel that something is not right.
What is remarkable is that the question is rarely: who am I? The question is usually: how do I get
everything back to the way it was? While the soul often wants something entirely different. Not
back to the old, but to come free from patterns that were once necessary and no longer serve.
That takes courage. Because the moment you come closer to yourself, relationships, work or the
choices you make may shift as well. That can feel unsettling, but it almost always brings more
peace, energy and freedom in the end. Perhaps that is the invitation of this summer. Not to work
even harder on yourself, but to pause and ask: am I living the life that truly fits me, or am I
mostly living the life I once thought was expected of me?
A question I often get
A question that keeps coming up lately is: how do I know whether I am following my intuition or
reacting from fear?
It is a good question, because the answer is often less complicated than people think. Fear tends
to make you small. Fear wants certainty, control and confirmation. It keeps circling, doubting,
searching endlessly for just one more sign that the right choice is being made. It keeps you
standing still. Intuition works differently. It is usually quiet and clear. Sometimes it tells you
something you would rather not hear, but deep down you know it is true. It does not shout and it
does not try to convince you of anything. It simply shows you what is real in that moment.
During a reading I regularly see that people already know the answers. They have felt for months,
sometimes years, which direction they want to go — but they do not yet trust it enough to act on
it. They hope I will say something completely different, while the reading simply confirms what
they have known deep down all along. Perhaps you recognise that too. Waiting for the perfect
moment, for complete certainty, or for permission from someone else. But sometimes the next step
begins exactly when you take yourself seriously and trust what you already feel inside.
New blogs
Over the past few weeks I have written a number of new blogs on topics I regularly come across in
my practice.
Bore-out: the exhaustion of a life that asks too little of you Most people assume
that exhaustion comes from too much stress and working too hard. But a life that asks too little of
you can be just as draining. When you constantly hold yourself back and your talents go unused, the
fire inside you slowly fades. www.heelde.info/2026/06/17/bore-out-the-exhaustion-of-a-life...
Karmic marriage — why you can't let go and how to finally come free Some
relationships feel like coming home — and still leave behind the deepest pain. A karmic marriage is
a soul bond that repeats across lifetimes until something essential shifts. In this blog I write
about what a karmic marriage actually is, why it is so hard to release, and how a reading or soul
retrieval can help you move forward. www.heelde.info/2026/06/17/karmic-marriage-why-you-can-t-let...
Burnout is not a disease — it's a signal from your soul Rather than seeing burnout
as a breakdown or a failure, I explore what your body and soul are actually trying to tell you when
you hit a wall completely — and why returning to the old life is often not the answer. www.heelde.info/2026/05/30/burnout-is-not-a-disease-it-s-a-s...
Gaslighting: why you doubted yourself for years When you have been manipulated
over a long period of time, you start to doubt your own feelings and perception more and more. In
this blog you can read how that process works and how you gradually learn to trust yourself again.
www.heelde.info/2026/05/30/gaslighting-why-you-doubted-yours...
Why you keep adapting yourself after growing up with a narcissistic father The
impact of emotional rejection and persistent criticism often continues to play out for years in
relationships, work and the way you see yourself. Awareness is often the first step toward change.

What is on my mind right now
I have recently started working partly from Stories on Eisenhowerlaan 114 and it has been a
genuinely enjoyable rediscovery. For years I worked from my own practice space, and I had almost
forgotten what it is like to share a building with other entrepreneurs. What struck me immediately
is how quickly you become part of all kinds of small dynamics. You greet each other at the coffee
machine, catch conversations in the corridor, navigate around each other and discover that every
workspace has its own unwritten rules and culture. It takes a little adjusting at times, but it is
also surprisingly instructive.
As an independent practitioner you tend to think of yourself as working entirely on your own terms.
And yet I notice how energising it can be to occasionally be part of an environment where other
people are also building something — their business, their dreams, their daily practice. At the
same time I became more aware of how important it is to stay close to yourself. Not every way of
working fits me, and not every habit of others is something I need to take on. Working among
different people again has made me more conscious of what does and does not feel right for me.
Watch out for fake accounts on Facebook
A client recently reached out to let me know that messages were being sent in my name via
Messenger. It turns out there are fake accounts actively impersonating me. I have reported this to
Facebook immediately and hope these accounts will be removed soon. If you receive an unusual or
unexpected message via Messenger and you are not sure it is genuinely from me, please do not
respond right away. Send me a separate message or email to check. Together we can make sure that
scammers cannot misuse my name.
Follow Heelde on WhatsApp
Heelde now has its own WhatsApp channel. I share regular short updates, inspiration, news and
developments from my practice there. An easy way to stay informed without missing anything.

Interested in a QHHT session?
Over the past period I have chosen to focus my schedule mainly on readings and therapeutic
sessions. This means I currently have very limited space for QHHT sessions. If you are specifically
looking for a QHHT session, I can warmly recommend Sandra from QHHT Nederland. I have had several
sessions with her myself and have come to know her as a skilled and warm therapist.

Practical
Always check the confirmation email from Elise carefully before you leave for an appointment. I
currently work from two locations in The Hague: Stories at Eisenhowerlaan 114 and the Burgemeester
Patijnlaan 372. If you added your appointment directly to your calendar via an ICS file in June or
July, the address in that file may be incorrect. The information in Elise's email is always what
counts.
There is plenty of availability for readings and therapeutic sessions in July and August. Book your
live or online session via the website
I wish you a summer full of space, light and moments where you can simply be yourself.
Warm regards, Hilde
